Forklift Certification

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has revised its existing requirements for powered industrial truck operator training (codified at 29 CFR 1910.178(l)) and issued new requirements to improve the training of these operators.

There a lot of industries that requires an applicant to present a forklift certification before getting a job behind the forklift, with the exception of the agricultural applications. These include construction companies, marine terminals, shipyards, and other industries that need hauling.

Getting a forklift certification are very vital and a trainee's operating performance are being evaluated closely. After the refresher course, evaluations are done at once every 3 years at a minimum.

The objective of a forklift certification is to set guidelines on the proper and safe way of using forklifts.
